Daniel Negreanu revealed recently his year end results on his Full Contant Poker blog and the results might surprise some of his fans.
Poker fans might often get distracted what the seasoned pros actually make by just looking the live tournament cashes. However, when you deduct all travel expenses and buy-ins, the actual profit is much less as Negreanu points out.
For example, Negreanu used $2,874,164 in tournament buy-ins in 2017 and cashed for $2,792,104, ending his tournament year with a $86,140 loss.
"Considering my average buy in on the year was $40,481 this is about as close as you can get to breaking even. In fact, after my $936,000 score I was up on the year but played a couple of the one day $25k events at Bellagio, rebought a few times, and ended the year in the red," Negreanu writes.
